At the SiriusDecisions Summit in Vegas this week (beautiful Lake Las Vegas, which like most of the city, is a construction of human imagination, not natural evolution).
There's a sea change going on in marketing and if you're not tuned into it, you may be out of a job, even a career. Here are some of the major concepts coming down the pike:
1. If your marketing organization is not organized around creating and nurturing demand for your products, rather than simple lead generation, you're out of a job.
2. If you don't walk over to your sales person today and figure out how you can align your marketing goals with their sales goals, you're out of a job.
3. If you don't figure out how to use new technology to optimize, streamline and analyze your demand generation efforts, your competition is gonna eat you for lunch.
